We are regularly reminded to shop local and support businesses but quite often we find ourselves drawn to support larger UK wide charities.
But if you look closer to home we find worthy causes on our door step and can see the impact a small amount of time or money can make.
Our charity steward Scott has been looking around for causes nearby that we could support, and after a poll on our WhatsApp group The YOU Foundation which is located less than 5 minutes away from where we meet was chosen.
They provide high quality and dynamic youth services in Staple Hill and surrounding areas. These include junior and senior youth clubs, detached and outreach work, educational trips and residentials, and much much more!
The £180 raised on this months raffle has already been donated to them, and as non designated funding it allows them to put it towards anything that may benefit the young people who use the Foundation in our area who need it most.
