Last night was the inaugural lodge skittles night, it was an interesting start when Andy Knight who organised the event let everyone know he didn’t actually know how to play skittles other than a game of killer! Thankfully there was a couple of seasoned pro’s there who told us the rules and the game was underway.
The game was a low scoring affair with several excuses about the length of the lane and how far apart the pins were, but the top male and female participants didn’t let that phase them and claimed their trophies!
The raffle took place while we enjoyed a lovely buffet provided by Shaun Finn and his wife. Several people grabbed a prize or two including an unusual glass fish brought by Alistair Houldleys wife which was highly sought after. The two free visitor meals donated by the lodge were won by Simon Twose and Shaun and we look forward to meeting their guests.
The night finished with a game of killer and was eventually a family affair with Rich Nicholls competing against his sister with the former coming out victorious.
Thanks to everyone who came along, we raised an amazing £402 to the charity of the year “Make A Wish”.
Finally apologies for the lack of photos and the poor quality of the ones we did take.
Look forward to next year and seeing who will take home the champions trophies next time.
